BINGO |
No project helps St. Nicholas
Parish afford to operate its school more than our Bingo sessions every
Sunday afternoon (2-5pm) and Wednesday evening (6:45-9:45pm). Typically
these sessions generate $80-90,000 each year. No other activity has that
potential. Accordingly, we need the help of every school parent to run
our Bingo.
Helping with Bingo can take many forms. The two most important are preparing and selling food in the kitchen and working the floor selling cards to the players and calling back the winning cards. Other tasks include helping sell the cards before Bingo starts, calling the Bingo numbers, working in the office, monitoring and controlling Bingo supplies, scheduling Bingo workers and securing substitutes when someone scheduled cannot make it.. Parents are engaged on a class by class basis each month. Each classroom assumes responsibility for providing the Bingo workers for its assigned month. The room parents coordinate this among themselves and provide special extras to be sold in the kitchen to delight our patrons and enhance the revenues. Throughout the year each class is challenged to invite relatives and friends to play Bingo at St. Nicholas. Students who recruit the most players during the year win prizes and the class recruiting the most players are treated to a special Bingo party at the end of the year. In our first year, the First Grade won the prize! All parents are required to volunteer
their time and talent to helping make our Bingo operation a success. You
will find it a lot of fun as well as a way to build relatonships with
other members of our school and parish community. Plan to do your part
and do fulfill your scheduled roles. |
