SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT

Saint Nicholas School is a school with a strong sense of values and standards. Discipline is essential for the moral development and growth of a person. Discipline is also a factor in establishing a climate for learning and for bringing about good relationships among the students and staff.

Bullying of any nature, physical or verbal, is against our code of conduct and will be addressed accordingly. Students need the lived experience of accepting responsibility for the actions. they need to be held accountable for their actions, to understand there are consequences for their choices, and to understand the rules are for everybody and they must adhere to them.

The following procedure will be used in matter of discipline:
1.
Teacher handles in an appropriate way
2.
Student receives a detention
3.
Teacher makes contact with parents (via phone or Option C)
4.
Conference with a parent and student
5.
Discipline Report mailed
6.
Conference extended to principal
7.
Performance Contract established

The total purpose for Detentions is not to make students unhappy, but to make them aware that a "wrong choice" was made and that another choice could have been selected. Example: Homework is to help the Student learn. If the homework is not completed, the student knows that he/she must get his task completed, if not at home, at detention, or possibly during recess play period the next day. MOMS' AND DADS' CLUB

The Moms' and Dads' Club is an on-going fund-raising organization that has played an extremely important role in alleviating the financial burden of Saint Nicholas School. In the past, they have provided things as a new roof for the building, new windows and shades, record players, various duplicating machines, blacktop for the playground, physical education equipment, new master clock system, TVs, VCRs, computers Bibles, and desks.

We encourage you to join this organization in order that they might continue their service to Saint Nicholas School. Membership dues is $5.00 each. The organization is open to each and every parent of students attending Saint Nicholas School. The organization is also open to all members of the parish.

We invite each and everyone of you to join us at the scheduled meetings held at 7:00 PM in the lunch room. This gives us the opportunity to know one another and to become involved in the school. This strengthens the learning experience of our children.

The Moms' and Dads' Club also offers Tuition Grants which are available at the end of the year for those in need of assistance. Applications are to be filled out and given to the Pastor or Principal.

Teachers and support personnel needed are then told in April whether they will be rehired for the coming school. year. In order to help you, Saint Nicholas Parish applies that registration fee to the first month's tuition, the September payment.
